Senior Design Engineers

Andrew Guan, PE
Since joining Rutherford + Chekene in 2014, Andrew has worked on a wide range of project types including student housing, laboratory buildings, office buildings, and tenant improvement projects. His recent projects include a new student housing complex at Sacramento State University and the Wareham EmeryStation West project in Emeryville.

Erin Maulhardt, PE
Erin designs for a wide variety of projects, from business park campuses to K-12 schools. Her recent projects include BioMed Realty’s Lincoln Center campus, a laboratory for a leading Bay Area biotech client, Kaiser Permanente medical centers in Redwood City and San Leandro, UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital Oakland Outpatient Clinic and Central Utility Plant, and the renovation of Richmond High School.

Jeffrey Chiu, PE
Jeff works on a range of projects that include renovations, seismic assessments, tenant improvements, and new design. His portfolio includes the Mission Hall Global Health & Clinical Sciences Building at UCSF Mission Bay, tenant improvements for Tesla, the expanded McEnery Convention Center in San Jose, a life science campus for BioMed Realty, and engineering consulting for mounting rooftop solar panels. He is also an active member of the Public Outreach Committee for the Structural Engineers Association of Northern California.

Professional Development/Marketing

Priscilla Castro
Priscilla plays an instrumental role in R+C’s recruiting efforts, where she has managed candidate interviews, lunches, career fairs, and new employee onboarding. In addition to continuing her role in the marketing department, Priscilla will manage many of R+C’s in-house training and professional development activities.
