Francisco has 21 years of experience in design and construction of infrastructure projects for the institutional, healthcare and industrial sectors. Since joining R+C in 2000, he has focused on healthcare and institutional clients, with an emphasis on new hospital building design. His expertise also includes implementation of base isolation and energy dissipation systems in new buildings.
Francisco strongly believes in cross-collaboration between the different design disciplines, contractors and their design-assist subs, to provide creative practical solutions that will improve constructability aspects of the project, while achieving cost efficiencies in the process. He also advocates listening to clients to understand their needs and expectations, providing them with the best product through consistent performance and reliability.
Francisco managed the structural design team for the Mills-Peninsula Medical Center and is now working on UC Berkeley’s Lower Sproul Plaza Revitalization. Francisco has co-authored technical documents regarding testing protocol for wood frame structures and application of base isolation systems in buildings.
