Laurel has been with R+C since 2005 and has 18 years of geotechnical engineering experience. She is currently providing geotechnical engineering, construction observation and investigation management services for two of the largest hospital projects in California. The Lucile Packard Children's Hospital involves an expansion to include 104 new patient beds and included a complex geotechnical investigation. The new Stanford Hospital will expand the space by 824,000 square feet and incorporates base isolation while addressing challenging soils conditions.
Laurel is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers. Within R+C, she participates in recruiting and training interns for our geotechnical department. She works closely with the head of the geotechnical department to provide strong communication with owners and design team members from the geotechnical investigation phase through the construction phase.
