Maureen Joyce, SE

Maureen has been with R+C for 15 years and has managed the structural team for a number of the firm’s significant new design and retrofit projects. Her current work includes the structural design for the new Boarding Area B at SFO, Moffet Gateway Office Park, and a new classroom tower for Auckland University of technology.

Maureen has recently focused on design build projects. Most recently, she has working on the Mission Hall faculty office building at UCSF Mission Bay and the McEnery Convention Center in San Jose. She enjoys working collaboratively with the entire design and construction team to deliver a more efficient project at a holistic level.

Maureen has been involved in writing and reviewing seismic code change proposals for the American Concrete Institute. She also co-authored the concrete chapter of the Structural Engineers Association of California’s Blue Book.

Engineering Dancing and Dining

Maureen worked with a leading U.S. floor vibration researcher to reduce the steel tonnage required to minimize vibration felt by diners due to adjacent dancers at the McEnery Convention Center in San Jose.
