The project houses 800 students and is located on 22 acres at the northwest corner of Lake Lagunita on the Stanford campus. Three distinct housing types were provided: independent houses, connected houses and suite housing, in addition to separate eating clubs, a program center and a multipurpose dining/performance center. Rutherford + Chekene provided structural and geotechnical engineering. Structural engineering, provided for the design of all the wood-framed buildings and their foundations, utilized shallow spread footings and deep drilled piers. The project was completed in five overlapping phases.
