Structural Designer

Rutherford + Chekene is actively seeking structural designers with 3-5 years of experience.

R+C is one of the foremost engineering practices in California providing structural and geotechnical engineering. Established in 1960, we are committed to hands-on involvement with our clients and to maintaining a friendly and welcoming in-office atmosphere.

Our new building portfolio includes significant collaborations with internationally acclaimed architects on a variety of building types. Our services also include seismic evaluations and retrofits of existing buildings. We have many new and exciting projects in the institutional and commercial sectors, both here in the U.S. and abroad.

We are looking for employees who enjoy engaging with architects and other clients. We are seeking engineers that are able to jump into a project and start working immediately.

QUALIFICATIONS                                                                                   

  • 3-5 years of experience working in the structural engineering field
  • A master's degree in structural engineering with courses in dynamic analysis, steel design, and concrete design
  • California PE license required; SE license a plus
  • Experience designing Type 1 building structures in concrete and steel
  • Familiarity with Revit Structure, RAM and ETABS
  • Bay Area candidates preferred
