Key Info
Flexible laboratory space

Providing flexible laboratory space for researchers in molecular and cell biology, development biology, chemistry and biochemistry, environmental toxicology, and biomolecular engineering; the $72 million project contained 100,000 sf of wet laboratory space and specialized facilities in a sun-lit, sustainable facility. The project exceeded its initial goal of LEED Silver and has been certified LEED Gold. This project featured close collaboration between R+C and the project architect using BIM for design and clash detection to control cost and schedule. R+C used BIM to analyze different building configurations with structural system options, allowing the owner to make informed decisions early-on in the design. Rutherford + Chekene was structural engineer of record.
