R+C was structural engineer of record for the new six-story outpatient building. Part of the Children's Hospital's plan for compliance with SB1953, the new building is located on a very tight site between the existing parking garage and the existing outpatient clinic building and includes a new entrance to the parking garage along Martin Luther King Jr. Way. The project involved extensive coordination with the City of Oakland, OSHPD and the surrounding neighborhood, as well as meeting strict budget demands.
