San Francisco International Airport | Harvey Milk Terminal 1 Boarding Area B

San Francisco, CA

Part of a $2B project to modernize the 617,000 sf Terminal 1, the new Boarding Area B (BAB) is divided into three levels and includes lounges, concessions, and numerous public art instillations. The calming light-filled space was designed to support SFO’s vision of a next-generation travel experience and is the world’s first LEED Platinum airport terminal. R+C provided structural and geotechnical engineering for the BAB project which was delivered through a Progressive Design-Build process and completed in three phases to minimize disruptions to airport operations.
