We are proud of the work we do to support our owner, architect and contractor partners in delivering best-in-class sustainability on our projects. Whether it’s a new building design, renovation, or a large-scale campus decarbonization effort, we are committed to leveraging the latest technology and tools to meet sustainability goals and help preserve our planet for generations to come.
SE 2050 Commitment
R+C has signed the SE 2050 Commitment—a program aimed at achieving net zero status for embodied carbon in structural systems by 2050. According to the World Green Building Council, buildings constitute 39% of global carbon emissions, 11% of which stems directly from materials and construction. We are excited about this latest step in our longstanding history of designing with the planet in mind.
R+C's Embodied Carbon Action Plan (ECAP) outlines our vision for how we will move our practice towards the goal of reducing embodied carbon in the built environment. We are proud of the steps we have taken since signing the SE 2050 Commitment and excited about the opportunities we see to continue driving meaningful change for a more sustainable future.
As part of our commitment to the SE 2050 Challenge, we have partnered with One Click LCA—who have developed powerful and easy-to-use tools for life cycle assessment and environmental product declaration.
