The Gary Soren Smith Center for the Fine and Performing Arts supports Ohlone College’s fine and performing arts programs and serves as a cultural center for southern Alameda and northern Santa Clara counties. The approximately 63,000 sf center includes a 400-seat main stage theatre, a 100-seat flexible studio theatre, a fine arts gallery, a 700-seat hillside amphitheater, a dance studio, television studios, a radio station, scene and costume shops, and faculty support spaces. Rutherford + Chekene provided structural engineering services.
