UC San Francisco | Mission Hall Office Building

San Francisco, CA

As one of the earliest buildings delivered on the new UCSF Mission Bay campus, and one that would serve as the home to UCSF’s Chancellor, this building marked the transition of the university’s hub to the Mission Bay campus.  The six-story, 251,000 sf facility brings together UCSF doctors and researchers from two off-campus sites; it houses 1500 people working in multiple disciplines. Client goals included meeting a highly aggressive two-year design and construction schedule, meeting strict OSHPD-level seismic requirements, and creating a work neighborhood with activity-based and collaborative spaces. R+C was structural engineer on the design-build team.
