Cañada College | Science and Technology Building

Redwood City, CA

Cañada College is one of three colleges in the San Mateo Community College District, which together serve approximately 40,000 students. Located in Silicon Valley, Cañada College has served the educational needs of the surrounding community for over 50 years. The college’s new 50,000 sf Science and Technology Building (B23) serves as a modern math, science, and technology center for the college with classrooms, laboratory learning space and offices. Outside, the plaza draws students to the north end of the central campus corridor.

R+C was structural engineer for the design-build team and delivered a complete and structurally sound design that earned DSA approval in a record 3.5 months. We coordinated closely with other disciplines and consider this project a successful team effort for Cañada College.
